The beauty of Utah Lake is something the Utah Lake Authority wants to celebrate year-round. That’s why we are pleased to announce the first-ever Utah Lake Video Contest. Much like our annual photo contest, community members can submit their videos for a chance to win cash prizes. This first contest will focus on the winter and spring season at Utah Lake.
“Unfortunately, few of us are aware of just how beautiful Utah Lake is across all four seasons,” said ULA executive Director Luke Peterson. “This contest will help us tell the lake’s story in full color and high definition.”
Categories for the video contest include Utah Lake Winter, Utah Lake Spring, Utah Lake Weather, Utah Lake Wildlife and Utah Lake Sport, Recreation, and Fun. Videos should be unscripted, minimally edited and filmed either between Dec. 21, 2024 and July 1, 2025 or between Dec. 21, 2025 and July 1, 2026. Deadline is July 11, 2026. ULA will host another contest for the second half of the year.
Prizes include $1,000 per category winner, $3,000 grand prize per contest, and one annual grand prize winner will receive $10,000.
These videos will be used for advertising, education and communications.
“Community engagement is a huge focus for us at the Utah Lake Authority and this video contest is another way of getting the community involved at the lake,” said Kelly Cannon-O’Day, communications and events manager at the Utah Lake Authority.
