Although birds flock to Utah Lake year round — making it the no. 1 birding spot in the county — the most active time to see them is during spring and fall migrations, one of which is happening right now.
As we often do, my family and I drove the Airport Dike this week and were amazed by the bird activity across the sunset-soaked lake (which is around 7 pm at the moment). Looking west across the lake at sunset with flocks of birds in the air is simply stunning.
Better yet, we noticed a further reduction in phragmites as well around the dike. Call it progress and a view. I highly recommend you get out there now if you have a moment in the evening.
