With summer ending two weeks ago, there’s finally a chill in the air. Yes, the weather remains pleasant, if not a tad hot in the afternoon sun. But fall has officially arrived.
While I look forward to and enjoy summer as much as anyone, autumn is equally exciting for me. In fact, I think it’s the best time to enjoy the outdoors without working up a sweat. Utah Lake is no different.
For one thing, Utah Lake in autumn offers a wider view of the changing colors of the Wasatch mountains. Right now, in fact, you can already see strokes of red and yellow. What a sight.
As for the lake itself, the surrounding colors are starting to dim, as if the habitat is gearing up for what’s to come.
But fear not; the really cold stuff is still several months away. As is, it’s a wonderful time to fish, bird, sail, sightsee by boat, and a whole lot more.
It’s your lake. So get out there and enjoy the weather while you can.
