Two companies participated in pilot testing algae remediation treatments on Utah Lake last summer. Both of those companies have now submitted their reports on their treatments, i.e. technologies used, challenges encountered, outcomes and recommendations. To learn more about the overall effort, visit our blog post, Marina Algae Treatments Start at Utah Lake. The reports are provided at the links below.
ATS Innova (Lindon Marina treatments)
SePro (Lincoln Beach and Utah Lake State Park treatments)
The Utah Lake Commission, Utah Division of Water Quality and partners continue to work toward lasting solutions to algae remediation at Utah Lake. These pilot treatments were a part of the Utah Lake Water Quality Study.
Hello,
I am currently working on research regarding HABs at Pineview Reservoir! I’m a senior at Weber State and this is the topic I picked for my senior research! I’m wondering. . . were the mitigation efforts that occurred in 2020 also take place in 2021? Was the Innova clean solutions pilot project just a method utilized in 2020? I was blown away to see this result from a sample taken on July 22, 2022: Toxigenic cyanobacteria cell density results for samples taken from Lindon Marina on 7/19/2021 were delivered on 7/21/2021. They show toxigenic cyanobacteria cell counts at 78,299,390 cells/mL. That’s INSANE. The highest I’ve seen from Pineview was 11,000,000.
Thanks,
Hailey
