Photo Fundraiser
Utah Lake Commission and the Utah Lake Photography Club are hosting a fund raising photo exhibition to highlight beauty throughout Utah.
Photo Submission
Photos can be submitted April 4 -14. Please use this link to submit entries. Each photographer can submit up to two entries. All photographs must have been taken in Utah, as we are featuring the beauty of our state. Please make sure to read the full submission rules and waiver. The top 14 entries (votes are tallied by the submission software) will be included in the exhibition at the Scera Center for the Arts, and available for purchase during that time.
The top 30 pictures will be featured in the virtual gallery and available for purchase in the following sizes: 11×14, 16×20, 20×24, and 24×30. Finalists will be contacted to submit their picture in the highest resolution possible. All photos have been donated by local photographers and the sale of prints in person and online will support the Utah Lake Life Jacket Loaner program.
Together, the Commission and Photo Club hope to raise $1500 for the program.

May is Water Safety Month

Every life lost impacts a family. In May 2020, Priscilla Bienkowski and Sophia Hernandez, two teenage friends from Saratoga Springs, were reported missing after swimming near the Knolls area on the west side of Utah Lake. Eight days later their bodies were found miles from where they entered the lake.
Family and friends of the two girls approached the Utah County Commission in July 2020 suggesting a life jacket loaner station be available near The Knolls entrance for recreators to borrow and leave life jackets free of charge. The Utah Lake Commission has since partnered with the two families to expand upon their idea; making it a lake-wide life jacket loaner program with six initial stations at public access points around the lake and more to come!
Utah Lake Life Jacket Program
The program provides the public free use of life jackets on a first-come, first-served basis at six of the major access points around Utah Lake. Monetary donations will help construct loaner stations, purchase life jackets, raise public awareness and support water safety education and outreach efforts.
Photography Club
Utah Lake Photography club, founded in 2017, is composed of mostly local photographers who have a love for beauty everywhere and a passion for Utah Lake and its beauty. These photographers have generously donated their photographs to help raise awareness and support for the Utah Lake Life Jacket program.
