I recently had the opportunity to explore Utah Lake by boat. It wouldn’t be the first time, but it was certainly one of the most memorable.
You see, I was escorted by a park ranger and a couple of out-of-state marketing executives who help Utah and several other surrounding states make state park pamphlets for the public. The two visitors were finishing up a two week stint across western state parks, documenting their experiences highlighting updates for next year’s pamphlets.
I was researching remote areas of the lake for an upcoming story.
While zooming across the lake in warm, sunny, and breezy weather, the out-of-state visitors were visually and verbally in awe. “The mountain snow and surrounding greenery are beautiful,” one said. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Curious, I asked the visitors which of the western state parks they had visited stand out. “This is the highlight,” came the reply.
As a commentator on utahlake.gov recently said, “Utah Lake has so much potential to be an amazing place.”
Hopefully locals can appreciate it as much as our out of state friends.
