Congratulations to the winners of the March Great Carp Hunt!
Team Carptels walked away with the grand prize of $1,000, Team BPS and Team Hatch won for the most carp caught and 12-year-old Saiber McGinty caught the largest fish at 13 lbs. In total, 192 carp were removed from the lake over the course of two days.
Carp are an invasive species at Utah Lake and various government agencies have worked diligently for years to remove them. The Great Carp Hunt helps with the removal effort, while also encouraging recreation at Utah Lake. Totals are tallied at the end of each monthly tournament. The team with the most carp at the end of November wins $10,000.
