    Honorable Rep. Brammer,

Thank you for the time you spend in the Utah legislature.

I’ve been reading the research done by the Salt Lake Tribune and am concerned about your involvement with the now defunct LRS proposal to garner public funding for their venture in Utah Lake. Thankfully our environmental scientists were able to question the project until the facts whittled down the extravagant claims being made.

Your response to a letter written by residents in August of last year is troubling to me because you exhibit a defensive attitude that would cut constituents out of communicating with you. I hoped that instead you would continue to respectfully debate the LRS issue and the nature of your relationship to it.

I still harbor my doubts about you and the lake islands approval process. Perhaps my information is limited, but when I read about Prof. Abbott losing his 2023 project funding, after you were quoted by others as wanting to cut it, those doubts intensified.

Today you and another leading political figure being associated with the potential future of Utah Lake, Mayor Fullmer, are on your new Lake Authority. I hope you can understand how this looks to me, especially after her issuing a premature letter of support for LRS to the EPA for funding.

Based on this perception of behind the scenes chummy-ness and lack of public administrative oversight and inclusion, I’m requesting that you resign your appointment to the Utah Lake Authority. I feel that your ability to support what is best for the Lake and its ecology has been comprised toward commercial interests.

    Regards,
