The Utah Lake Authority Small Grants Program offers one-time funding to aid applicants with starting or improving existing recreation offerings at Utah Lake for residents and visitors. The purpose of this Grant Program is to fund efforts to improve, expand, or enhance recreation and leisure opportunities at Utah Lake public access areas as part of its mission to enhance the aesthetic qualities and recreational use and enjoyment of Utah Lake.
Projects can include:
- Efforts to improve, expand or enhance recreation at Utah Lake
- Construction of recreation or leisure related amenities.
- Ongoing, recreation and leisure programs, such as classes, leagues, or any other combination of multiple occurrences.
- Special events, defined as an event which occurs one time during the year related to recreation, and or leisure at Utah Lake.
Eligible expenses include:
- Benches, bike repair stations, piers, workout stations
- Equipment purchases, such as kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and associated equipment, fishing tackle and accessories, and special event equipment
- Marketing costs, such as paid social media ads, digital advertising, printed flyers, and other materials
*Marketing costs are limited to 5% of the reimbursed amount. - Required permit fees, paperwork, or certifications
- Training and education to provide staff with necessary skills for program, special event, or project implementation
