The Utah Lake Commission is excited to announce the 1st annual Utah Lake Youth Photography and Art Contest. All youth under 18 years of age are encouraged to create art through a variety of mediums. We want to see Utah Lake through your eyes! Contest categories include:
- Utah Lake Photography: A printed color or black & white image, including the digital file.
- Utah Lake Artwork: Your entry may include water media, mixed media, drawing, markers, crayons, oil, or acrylics etc. Entries must be matted and may not exceed 16” x 24”, including the matte. No frames please.
- Utah Lake Sculpture: Wood, ceramics, clay or other creative media. Entries may not exceed 20” in any direction and must be stable and suited for display/transport. Please do not submit entries that will fall apart easily or will not sustain long-term display. We will not accept entries that do not fit these criteria.
ENTRY: An online entry form is required to be filled our for each item. Please see our official rules for complete details and to determine the correct date to enter your submissions.
All entries must be received by 5:00 pm on August 7, 2015.
Participants may submit one item in each category
Entries must be the original work of the registered artist. Pre-drawn projects or copies are not eligible. Adults may give minimal assistance to their children when matting or printing their final project. We want the child’s unique style to be evident. All photos must be in .jpg format and you must own the copyright to any photo submitted.
Youth photography, art, and sculpture entries will be on display at the Utah Lake Commission office or other government offices after the contest.
Entries will NOT be returned.
PRIZES: First, second, and third place winners will be selected in each category by a panel of judges. Judging criteria will be based on: quality 40%, creativity 40% and originality 20%.
Winners will be notified by email and on our Facebook Page on August 21, 2015. By accepting a prize, winners consent to use of their name, photograph, and or likeness for advertising/publicity purposes without additional compensation.
Gift Cards will be awarded to the winners in each category. The Artist Corner and the Creativity Art Studio are helping to sponsor this event and may help provide gift cards or prizes for the winners.
