Utah Lake Photography Contest

The Utah Lake Commission is pleased to announce the 5^th annual Utah Lake Photography Contest. The contest is sponsored by Allen’s Camera. Contestants may submit one photo in each of the following categories:

Utah Lake Scenery: photos of the lake in all seasons, ice, sunsets, reflections, etc.

Utah Lake Fun: images of people enjoying the lake.

Utah Lake Animal Life: images of animal, insect, or wildlife at Utah Lake.

ELIGIBILITY: The Utah Lake Photography Contest is open to anyone ages 18 and older. Those under 18 are invited to participate in the Youth Photography and Art Contest.

ENTRY: Complete the following steps.

Complete an online form for each entry, available here.
Email your digital .jpeg file entry to utahlakephotocontest@gmail.com before August 7, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. MST. It must be at least 8MP (3264 x 2448). If you prefer, you may deliver your submission to the Utah Lake Commission or to any Allen’s Camera location during business hours between August 3 and August 7, 2015 on a USB flash/thumb drive or CD.

JUDGING & PRIZES: Winners will be selected by a panel of judges from Allen’s Camera using the following criteria:

40% Quality (focus, lighting, depth of view)
40% Composition (creativity, originality, arrangement)
20% Originality (think beyond just a sunset at the lake)

Winners of the photography contest will be notified by email and on our Facebook Page on August 21, 2015.

Winning entries will be printed and displayed at the Utah Lake Commission office, Utah Lake Commission Governing Board Meetings, and at the annual Utah Lake legislative event in October. They may be used in marketing campaigns, social media sites, and the Utah Lake Commission website. Framed, printed copies of the photos will be gifted to the winning participants in June of 2016. In addition, the following prizes will be awarded to the winners in August 2015 at the end of the contest:

Prizes will be a combination of gift cards to Amazon and Allen’s Camera.
