Lightening strikes twice: Stunning storm over Utah Lake

I never thought I’d see a more impressive electrical storm over Utah Lake when I saw this photo by Bill Church last year. Then I saw the above being shared on social media this week and changed my mind.

The shot, taken by photographer Jeff McGrath, captures lightning over the lake on Monday night, looking southwest from Traverse Mountain in Lehi. The reaction was swift and overwhelmingly positive.

“Beautiful!” tweeted Utah County Weather. “Great shot,” exclaimed Matthew Hartman. “Wow!” said another. “I need to go with [McGrath] one night and learn how to capture lighting.”

Thanks for sharing the photo, Jeff.
