2015 Utah Lake Festival

We are excited to announce that the 2015 Utah Lake Festival will be on Saturday, June 6th, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Utah Lake State Park. The address for the park is 4400 West Center Street Provo, Utah, 84601. Admission is FREE!

Come enjoy the following:

  • Free Drawstring Backpacks for the First 1,500 Attendees
  • Sandcastle Building
  • Photo Scavenger Hunt
  • Hayrides
  • Games and Crafts for Children
  • Food Trucks
  • Educational Booths
  • Live Music
  • Free Fishing Instruction
  • Sailboat Regatta
  • Boat Show Featuring 20 Boats that Work and Play on Utah Lake
  • Boat Rides (Due to low water levels, the number of boats available will be limited. Free tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.)

At the festival, attendees will receive a “Utah Lake Festival Passport.” The passports are used to collect stamps from educational and activity booths. Once attendees obtain all of the required stamps, they will receive a free prize! Additional prizes can be won by participating in the Photo Scavenger Hunt. Be sure to bring a smart phone or digital camera! 🙂 Stop by the information tent in front of the visitor’s center when you first arrive to the park so that you can pick up your drawstring backpack and passport.

The main goals of the Utah Lake Festival are to educate the public about what is being done to improve the lake, promote recreational activities, and allow the attendees to enjoy a beautiful Saturday at one of Utah’s greatest natural resources.

In an effort to help promote the Utah Lake photo contest as well as some of the latest and greatest camera gear to hit the market, Allen’s Camera and Sony have paired up to offer a photo walk during the festival for the first 15 people to sign up at allenscamera.net/classes. The cost is $15 and all participants will, in turn, receive a gift card for $15 which can be used toward any product or service offered by Allen’s Camera (good at any of their 3 locations: Provo, Orem, and Holladay). Allen’s Camera’s Sony rep will be coming out from Colorado and bringing with him an impressive assortment of loaner gear (cameras and lenses) which participants will be able to use for free. You can bring your own SD memory card or pick one up at the store if you need (or even transfer your photos to your smartphone via the built-in wifi feature on all of the cameras). Participants will meet at Allen’s Camera in Provo (36 N University Ave) at 10:30 to sign out the camera gear and then carpool over to the festival. Marc Morris, the Sony rep, in addition to some of the staff members from Allen’s, will be available answer questions and/or offer advice during the walk which will run from approximately 11:00-1:00 at Utah Lake State Park.

Come experience what Utah Lake is all about! We hope to see you there. For questions, call the Utah Lake Commission at 801-851-2900.

  1. Wow, there’s me and my three daughters right on the front row of the boat ride. That must have been like 8 years ago.

  2. I’m Madison Kohls with United Way of Utah County’s EveryDay Learners. EveryDay Learners is a movement promoting literacy in Utah County. We are hoping to get a booth at this year’s festival. We will hand out reading tips and teach parents how to get involved in their children education. There will also be reading activities for children. Please contact me at madisonk@unitedwayuc.org or call 801-691-5382.
    Thank you.

  3. I think we should go to the festival this year and get that same picture taken again.

Is there going to be a fishing contest this year? they’ve done it in past years and it was alot of fun.

    • There will be free fishing instruction at the festival. We are still unsure about a fishing contest, but thank you for expressing your interest.

  5. I would like to volunteer to help out to earn hours for my dedicated hunter permit.

What do I need to do in order to sign up for that?

    Thanks!

  6. Are dogs allowed?

    • Dogs are allowed at the festival as long as they are on a leash and you clean up any messes that they make. We hope to see you there!

  7. What is the minimum age for the boat ride and how do we get tickets for the boat ride?

    • Tickets will be given out at the information booth at the festival starting at 9:30am. They will be distributed on a first come first served basis. There is no minimum age for the boat rides, but anyone under 8 years old needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

My husband and I have started a food trailer and would LOVE to be at this event! We sell a frozen dessert that is very unique. It’s similar to shave ice but very different. HAHA. Happy to send pictures. How do I fill out an application?

    • Hi Brittany. Unfortunately it is too late for us to accommodate you at this year’s festival. Please contact us in March or April of next year about participating in next year’s festival. Thanks for contacting us.

4 hours!!!??? Is THAT as good as you could do? Why not make it a full day of fun? Make it worth the time and effort you all put into it and more inviting to the general public.

  10. Is there going to be a bird watching walk this year?

    • No, unfortunately there will be no bird watching walk. Thanks for asking though, we will keep that in mind for next year.

  11. I am excited to have a booth at the festival to raise money for the June sucker kiosk and sign I’m putting up at Lower Hobble Creek in July. Stop by my booth and buy a cool June Sucker sticker to help me with my fundraiser!

  12. If was fun. However at the end when my daughters earned all the stamps on their passport there was nothing left. I now have very sad girls.
